Competition Litigation

Where businesses have suffered loss due to the anti-competitive behaviour of suppliers or competitors they may choose to bring private damages actions rather than relying on competition authorities to investigate. In addition, where the competition authorities have found that a business has breached competition rules, it is now possible in the UK to bring follow-on actions for damages in the Competition Appeal Tribunal.

Where companies consider bringing private actions or are the subject of a claim, we can assist at every stage of proceedings, including applying for injunctions in the High Court, preventing behaviour which breaches competition rules, bringing actions to stop anti-competitive behaviour and seeking damages for loss caused by it. We also defend claims, bring and defend actions in the UK's Competition Appeal Tribunal and assist with appeals in the Court of Appeal and the European Courts.
