India

Olswang's groundbreaking India Practice straddles both sides of the East/West corridor and seeks to advise both Indian and UK clients on their strategic and legal needs. On the one hand, we advise Indian corporate and family groups in two key areas (i) raising capital either privately or on the London Stock Exchange, and (ii) UK and European M&A. We also assist our own UK and European client base to execute their own India facing strategy.

Olswang has one of London's leading India practices, having acted on some of the most iconic Indian corporate deals in London to date including the IPOs of Great Eastern Energy, Noida Toll Bridge, KSK Power, Trinity Capital and DQ Entertainment. The India practice also acts on an ongoing basis for high quality clients such as VSNL, NDTV, IL&FS Investsmart, Cobra, The Times of India and Dr Reddy's Laboratories.

The India practice is headed by corporate partner, David Roberts and contains partners from each of Olswang's key sectors including pharma, media, real estate, energy, IT, communications, leisure, retail and technology. The practice also draws upon the assistance of Delhi based consultant Rishi Bhatnagar and a number of Indian qualified lawyers in our London office.

We have strong relationships with key Indian law firms, accounting firms and corporate finance houses and, by having actually done the deals, we are able to bring significant experience and knowledge to new Indian clients to ensure that they are able to pursue their corporate and commercial objectives in the UK with maximum effect. In addition, India Practice member Max Audley is a member of the AIM Advisory Group, an external committee consisting of 19 senior executives across the AIM community from AIM companies, Nomads, Advisers, Brokers and Market Makers, that is the main focus for company and practitioner input and advice into all matters affecting the operation and regulation of AIM. Thus we have excellent contacts into the AIM market in London.
