Restructuring & Special Situations Group

The SSG has particular expertise in working on projects in the real estate, retail & leisure and media sectors and creates bespoke solutions for each of them.

The Olswang Restructuring & Special Situations Group (SSG) identifies solutions relevant to clients, borrowers, lenders and their advisors, focusing on:

  • Financial restructuring;

  • Operational restructuring, for example by improving cash flow and business value; and

  • Helping banks assess their portfolio exposure and restructure risk.
The SSG is comprised of dedicated banking lawyers, insolvency lawyers and lawyers with specialist recovery expertise. All share a strong grounding in both banking and insolvency law; all have an unusually broad commercial outlook.

We advise on all relevant issues surrounding lending and borrowing, turnaround and insolvency. This knowledge and experience is compounded by the resources of our Real Estate, Commercial Litigation, Corporate and Commercial Groups who each have in-depth market knowledge with finance and insolvency expertise.
