International Arbitration

As modern business grows ever more international, so the need for resolving disputes outside of national courts increases. Our International Arbitration Group has the skills and experience to ensure that such disputes are resolved in the most practical and cost effective way from start to finish, without compromising results.

Our arbitration lawyers are highly experienced in both international and domestic arbitration across a variety of industries. We have acted on arbitrations concluded under all of the major sets of arbitration rules including those of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), the American Arbitration Association (AAA), United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), Independent Film & Television Alliance (IFTA), and the Court of Arbitration for Sport, as well as in ad hoc arbitrations. Partners in the group also sit periodically as arbitrators.
Our Group has a truly international focus. We have conducted arbitrations under many different systems of law, against overseas opponents from both civil and common law backgrounds, and are experienced in matters involving foreign states and state-owned entities. We have foreign language expertise within our group and we are also able to offer an effective international service through close liaison with lawyers from our network of established relationships throughout Europe and the rest of the world.

Firmwide, Olswang's approach is industry-focussed, which means that the Partners in the Group are not only experts in International Arbitration but must also be specialists in their given sectors.
